The Emmy Award nominations were announced this morning, and many projects featuring our alumni received nominations! Here’s a list:

  • “Stranger Things,” featuring Caleb McLaughlin (The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek, The Lion King) and Gaten Matarazzo (Les Miserables, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), received 18 nominations including Outstanding Drama Series
  • “This Is Us,” featuring Niles Fitch (Our Lady of Kibeho, The Lion King), received 11 nominations including Outstanding Drama Series
  • “Big Little Lies,” featuring young theater critic Iain Armitage, received 16 nominations including Outstanding Limited Series
  • Hairspray Live, featuring Shahadi Wright Joseph (School of Rock, The Lion King), received 7 nominations including Outstanding Special Class Program
  • “The Americans,” featuring Holly Taylor (Billy Elliot), received 4 nominations
  • “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors,” featuring Hannah Nordberg (Little Miss Sunshine), received 1 nomination for Outstanding Television Movie
  • “Once Upon A Sesame Street Christmas,” featuring Kolette Tetlow (Iowa), received 1 nomination for Outstanding Children’s Program

The Creative Arts Emmys will air on September 16th at 8pm EST on FXX, and the Primetime Emmy Awards will occur on September 17th at 8pm EST on CBS. Get the full list of nominations on Emmys.com! Congrats, everyone!
