The new Lion King kids have finally been announced! Please say hello to K’Lynn Jackman, Nathaniel Logan McIntyre, Isaiah D. Negron, and Shahadi Wright Joseph who are making their Broadway debuts this week in The Lion King. Darius Kaleb (Motown, A Raisin in the Sun) is hosting a special concert for his upcoming CD single release! On September 29th at 7pm at Manhattan High School Auditorium, kids from Motown, Matilda, A Little Princess, and more will join Darius. About a week ago, Grace Capeless (Matilda), Alexa Shae Niziak (Matilda), Analise Scarpaci (Matilda), Sadie Sink (Matilda), and Beatrice Tulchin (Matilda) all performed at the Puttin’ on the Brits concert as mini Spice Girls! You can find them singing a great Spice Girls medley down below.

FYI: I will be on vacation from today until Sunday so I will not update the blog until Monday. Just a heads up! Also, I apologize for the downtime these past couple days. Something went awry with the host. Anyways, on to the news!

matildaNew Matildas have been announced! Congratulations to 9 year old Tori Feinstein, 8 year old Eliza Holland Madore (Once), 9 year old Brooklyn Shuck (Annie), and 8 year old Fina Strazza who will take over over the next few weeks! Fina began her run this week. We are thrilled for these girls! We will have them up on our Matilda page shortly.

Unfortunately, Motown will close on January 18, 2015. But don’t fear! The production will return to Broadway in 2016. No theater or dates have been announced for the Broadway return. Go see it while you can!

Liberty is a new musical coming Off-Broadway to Theatre 80! The production will run October 14-November 25th. Tickets are now on sale at LibertyTheMusical.com. No casting has been announced yet.

“If I Stay” is now out in theaters. Be sure to go out and support Chloe Grace Moretz (The Library). Congratulations, Chloe!

Lots of Newsies news! First, we’d like to officially congratulate the cast on their 1,000th performance on Thursday! Ice Bucket Challenge, “Misdemeanor: Puppy Love” Behind the Scenes, and more!

Caleb McLaughlin and Teshi Thomas (The Lion King) took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge along with their Lion King castmates! You can watch the video below! The Ice Bucket Challenge is done to raise awareness for ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. To donate to the cause, go to ALSA.org.

Finding Neverland

Finding Neverland will transfer to Broadway! The production, currently playing at A.R.T. in Massachusetts, will begin performances in March 2015. No theater or set dates have been announced yet nor has it been announced which cast members will transfer with the production. Congratulations to the entire company! We are very excited to see it.

It was announced today that 13 year old Sophia Anne Caruso (Sound of Music LIVE!) will play Tina Denmark in the upcoming off-broadway return of Ruthless! The production will play nine performances in September to benefit BC/EFA. Congratulations, Sophia!

Nathaniel McIntyre Joins LION KING, David Austin Makes Broadway Debut, and more!

10 year old Nathaniel McIntyre, fresh off of the Lion King national tour, will make his Broadway debut as Young Simba in The Lion King! We got to see him play Young Simba last year as part of Kids on Tour while he was on tour and we can’t wait for him to make his Broadway debut. His official performance is September 21st, but we are not sure at which performance. We will keep you posted. Congratulations, Nathaniel!

D’Andre Lee has departed the company of Kinky Boots. We wish you all the best, D’Andre! Making his Broadway debut is David Austin who, according to his management, will also join the national tour. Congratulations and welcome, David!

Reminder! Tomorrow Matilda and Motown will perform at Broadway in Bryant Park starting at 12:30pm. Seating is first come, first serve. Performers have not been confirmed yet, but we will let you know.
